چکیده
This paper presents the results of experimental testing crack resistance specimens taken from a welded plate made steel SA-387 Gr. 91, while taking into account different filler materials and welding procedures that were used. type steels is typically used in pressure vessels, pipelines gas installations chemical petrochemical industry, as well thermal installations. Since it operating under extreme conditions, which include elevated temperatures and/or corrosion, mechanical properties 91 will deteriorate over time, especially its joints. For this reason, very important to thoroughly analyse behaviour joints, possibility cracks initiating any three joint regions, parent material (PM), weld metal (WM) heat affected zone (HAZ). can be achieved by determining total impact energy Charpy with V-2 notches each along their components, initiation propagation energy, measuring fracture toughness.

Fatigue Life Prediction for Welded Joints with Known Initial Crack
The inspection of various structures often detects a fatigue cracks developed during long service life. These fatigue cracks significantly reduce remaining fatigue life and fatigue strength. Influence of the initial fatigue cracks size in non-load-carrying fillet-welded one-sided transverse attachment joints on the remaining fatigue life and fatigue strength is considered in this paper. A compu...

This paper deals with a numerical investigation on the influence of residual stresses on fatigue crack growth in AA2024-T3 friction stir welded butt joints. The computational approach is based on the coupled usage of the finite element method (FEM) and the dual boundary element method (DBEM), in order to take advantage of the main capabilities of the two methods. Linear elastic FE simulations a...
متن کاملload displacement behavior of concrete beam under monotonic static and low velocity impact load
experiments were carried out to observe the influence of loading type on concrete beam specimens. beam specimens made of similar concrete mixture with the same geometry were tested under three point static loading and low velocity drop weight impact loading. load – displacement behavior, absorbed energy dissipation capacity, stiffnesses, failure modes of beam specimens were obtained and discuss...
متن کاملImproving Fatigue Strength of Welded Joints by Ultrasonic Impact Treatment
Enhancement in fatigue performance of welded joints by Ultrasonic Impact Treatment (UIT) was evaluated with large-scale rolled beam and built-up specimens having yield strength of 345 to 760 MPa. Eighteen rolled-beam specimens having welded details at cover plates and transverse stiffeners and eight built-up specimens having only transverse stiffener details were fatigue tested after treating t...
متن کاملProbabilistic model for fatigue crack growth and fracture of welded joints in civil engineering structures
This paper presents a probabilistic assessment model for linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM). The model allows the determination of the failure probability of a structure subjected to fatigue loading. The distributions of the random variables for civil engineering structures are provided, and the relative importance of these random variables is determined. An example of a bridge detail is ...
